Zonecon - 2013

Program:  JCI ZONECON
Date : 26 and 27,  October 2013 
Place : Maharaja College Centenary hall, Mysore
Host :  JCI Mysore Brindavan

 We started our journey towards Mysore by train Raja Rani Express from Bangalore Station 26th at 11.00am. Had lots of fun on the way. Having reached the venue by 2.30pm, had a quick meal to quench our hunger.  Reached the venue in time, we were happy and amused to see the crowd and were excited to know how the days would unfold. 

The conference started with hoisting of flags- JCI flag, Zone Flag and national flag



We started hearing the welcome speech followed by introduction of guest Sri G.R.Nagaraj and Keynote speaker Prof C Naganna and Chief Guest JCI Sen Ramesh Batavia sir, Executive Officer Jc Shrish Dundoo. 

The Guests gave us thought provoking speeches for us to carry on and work within ourselves.
JFF.L.Ramanathan our National Treasurer presented the NLTS award to the outstanding students while JCI Sen Ramesh Batavia sir presented the Kamal Patra Award to Jc Balmuri Srinivas

ZP JFD Deviprasad Kayarmar recognised all the active chapters for the year and congratulated each one of them making the year a wonderful experience for all. Chapters who had hoisted the zone level and national level events were recognised. 

Based on ZPRP points the chapters were given awards under three categories s 3rd place of Platinum award), 2nd place of  Emerald award and 1st place of Diamond award

Our chapter received the ZP recognition and were also recognised for hoisting Zone level events- ZGB, MidCon and National Level Event- APCC Grooming sessions. 

Based on ZPRP points our Chapter received the Emerald Achiever award.


Nominated members for the post of ZVP and ZP for year 2014 were introduced to the gathering. Our chapter had nominated our President Jc .C.J.Jeyachander for the post of ZVP.  We were proud to see him among the other nominees. The day ended with a coccus session with the nominees



Next day,27th started with an inaugural session with ZP recognising every member of the ZGB for their contribution.  After this  he presented his report for the year 2013.

The ZGB nominees were again introduced and made to answer few question from the participating  members. 

After lunch, the results of the awards  bidded by various chapters were announced. 

Our chapter received the Outstanding Jaycee Award of the Zone- Winner- Jc Vinay.H.K

Just after tea, results were announced for the ZVP and ZP Nominees. All of them were elected unanimously. Our ZP gave the oath taking for the coming in ZP Jc.Madosh Poovaiah, while he in turn gave oath taking to ZVP- Jc.C.J.Jeyachander,Jc. Sandeep, Jc. Lohit and Jc. Prasad
  

At around 5 pm, we came to the end of the program where vote of thanks was given. 

It was an empowering experience for all of us.  We extend our thanks to JCI Mysore Brindavan for their hospitality and congratulate them for hosting this program.
   

JCI World President Visit

Program:  JCI World President Visit
Date : 1  October 2013 
Place : Hotel Chancery Pavilion, Bangalore
Host :  JCI Bangalore Garden City

 World President Jc Chiara Milani’s visit to Bangalore , hosted by JCI Bangalore Garden City was an unforgettable experience. Presided by Jc Ramanathan, NT,  Jc Shine Baskaran EVP, JCI Sen Vallabdas Ji the guiding force, PNP Jc Sen Ramesh Bhatavia Ji, ZP – Jc Deviprada ji, ZGB of zone 14 and presidents of zone 14 as well as members of JCI Bangalore Garden City had participated this event.

World President speech is calling fellow Jaycees in joining hands towards building a strong society and be an contributor to community.

Memorabilia been presented to our World President and other dignitaries.
The program ended on a high note with an sumptuous dinner by the host.

General Body Meeting - October

Program:  General Body Meeting
Date : 20  October 2013 
Place : Hotel Pai Vaibhav, Bangalore

The General Body meeting gives the opportunity for all the members to come together and interact with the  CGB (Chapter Governing Body).  JCI BH conducted the GB meeting on 20 Oct 2013. 

 President appreciated the contributions of all the members which has enabled our chapter carry out various chapter level, zone level and national level programs.  He cited history where even a single  person had  brought in great revolutions and we members coming together can make even greater contributions to the society.

Various items were discussed and the meeting concluded with vote of thanks by our secretary Jc Madhumathi.



How to deal with difficult people

 In our life we come across a spectrum of people.  Some people are easy to get along and some other make anything and everything  difficult for others.  There are situation where  we come across such difficult people and get ourselves  stressed out.

JCI Bangalore Horizon conducted a  training program on this topic.  Jc Divya Sridhar (NTTS provisional  graduate) handled this topic and shared  various salient points who they are and what we can do to handle such situations. 

It was a very interactive and informative session.

Jaycee Week

Program:  Jaycee Week

To  celebrate the spirit of Jaycee movement,  every  year Jaycee week is  celebrated from 9 September to 15 September by all chapters by conducting programs on training,  community  development,  Honoring  social  workers of the neighborhood  and various  JCRT programs,  JJC  programs are also  held.

This year  members of our chapter  took care of   handling  various  program and  on the last  days  we  all had a mega gathering at  Janapada Loka, Ramanagara.

Some of the interesting features are shared  below.

Jaycee week  celebrations started with Honors  day.  Shri. N N Harish Uthaiah Managing Trustee,  People's Trust was honored for spear heading community development projects in rural area

ID  program on "Effective Communication"  at Kiran Enterprises, Hosur.


Yoga Camp/Wellness Pragramme  carried out at SRI SHARADA VIDYANIKETAN, Vidyaranyapura, Bangalore 

Note Book Distribution to students of  Government Tamil Higher Primary School, Peenya, Bangalore

Future - Program #4 at M.E.S College of Arts, Commerce & Science, 
Malleswaram, Bangalore

Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation Training at Fortis Hospital, Banergatta Road, Bangalore

Dental Camp to students of Government Tamil Higher Primary School, Peenya Bangalore

JCI  Bangalore Horizon  conducted the JCI FUTURE  training at M.E.S PU College
Vidyaranyapura, Bangalore.

Students were  trained on  "Goal Setting",  "Know Thy Self" and 
Time Management  by Jc Dr.C.J.Jeyachander, Jc Anuradha Jeyachander and Jc Madhumathi

JCI  Bangalore Horizon  conducted the JCI FUTURE  training at BNES First Grade College.
 
The  training was  provided to the UG students of Commerce. 

We  had a  very interactive  session and  students were given training on College to Corporate,    Resume Preparation  and Handling Interview,   Group Discussion and Body  Language

SHAKTHI

Some of us had the opportunity to meet Jc Lakshmisha Sir(President, JCI Tumkur)  during our speech craft training. 
Our interactions with him have given an idea that he is a man of  actions. 
We  came to  know that his chapter is going the organise the women empowerment program called "SHAKTHI".  We were all  eager to attend the same.


All the women folk of our chapter were excited at this outing to an women empowerment program.  We started early from  Bangalore and  we all reached the venue on time.
We were surprised to see such a nice, functional, practical  conference hall at the District Hospital of Tumkur.

The program was  chaired by Zone JCRT Coordinator Jc Revathi Poovaiah
Pilot Jc Rashmi Sathish and Co Pilot Jc Lakshmi Ramesh focused on the  important  multi tasking roles played by all women folk as daughters, sisters, wife, mothers  through various games and activities.

There were lots of individual and  team  activities. Our  faculty helped us to become aware of the importance of the "personal time" for every women to retain our individuality

We were extremely  happy  to receive
1) Special recognition to JCRT wing by Zone officer
2) Outstanding Participant award to Jc.Madhumathi announced by the organising chapter.




 

Aromatherapy Workshop

Program:  Aromatherapy Workshop

Place :  BASIX - Center for Human Excellence, Bangalore

Aromatherapy Workshop was  conducted for the JCRT wing of our chapter.
Mrs Sharmila Joshi of Swati Aroma Wonders took us to the wonderland of  Essential oil
and made us become aware of  how  much physical and mental benefit we can derive through these  simple aromatherapy.
This was  indeed one of the very useful programs for us.

The  training was  provided to the PG students of  PG Department of mathematics. 

We  had a  very interactive  crowd who put forth many  views and sought our opinions. 
We  felt happy that  we  could share our experiences  and  knowledge with them

In general, the focus of the parents and schools are to ensure the students gets the maximum exposure to the academics.   Lot of them  get exposed to  extra curricular activities  like sports,  quiz and annual day celebrations.   May be  a few  get exposed to training on  the  "skills of  successful life".

JCI  India  has a mission to impart  knowledge to  high school  students on how to develop their  life skills towards effective successful life.  One  such  program is  "Empowering  Youth"  under which the JCI  chapters are encourage to conduct the  training to  students from the following  topics.

  3. Skill of Decision Making
  4. Shooting out the Stage fear - Effective Public Speaking
  5. Time Management or Self Management ?
  6. Managing Exam Stress

JCI Bangalore Horizon  conducted its very first Empowering  youth program at Sai Shankar Vidyashala.   We were not very sure how these topics will be  received from the students since such topics are not part of their  curriculum.   We  were  very surprised that the students were  very eager to participate in discussions and to learn  all these skills too.   We  will be glad to roll out many such  programs in the  future.
