Chairmanship and Parlimentarian Procedures

Program:   CAPP
Date :  9, 10 March 2013
Program Director: Jc Suresh  Raju

Chemistry was not my favourite subject.  In fact I was not comfortable with all the bonding equations.  I  was  surprised with good marks in my I semester chemistry paper.  All the  credit goes to my Chemistry lecturer who had made it very simple and interesting and whatever she taught, it directly got internalised, resulting in good score.

Similarly, CAPP is not a very interesting subject.  Any subject becomes alive in the hands of a good teacher. Our Faculty Jc Harish  Nayak Sir did an excellent job of making these two days very interesting and effective

If we know the benefits of something, we will naturally become interested in it.  Our faculty took us to the road map of where we are and what we want to become and how CAPP can help us everywhere in our leadership journey.

There were various interesting video clips, activities and discussions.  Jc Harish Nayak Sir explained the various JCI protocols and how  logical they are.

We  all had two  days of effective  training and look forward to many more such trainings in the future

Effective Public Speaking (EPS)

Program:   EPS - 2013
Date :  18 Feb to  24 Feb
Program Director: Jc Suresha Kuppan

This year’s Effective Public Speaking Training was made more effective by having it for a week in the evenings.  Participants had sufficient time to prepare for the next days’ assignment

It was also a significant program which included few Junior Jaycees, Jaycees and associate Jaycees.
Some of the previous year EPS graduates were assigned to be the mentors for the participants to help them with their assignment preparation.

There was so much interaction, energy and fun.  It was an awesome transformation from reluctant participants to  confident speakers

Participants were encouraged to speak in whatever language they are comfortable with.  So, we heard English, Kannada and combination of both of them too.

It was a hectic week indeed and it all the hard work yielded its fruits. All the participants delivered confident and comfortable speeches   in a formal setting on the graduation day amidst our Chief Guest Jc Nagesh, Zone Director, Training.

What is  APCC  (Information Courtesy Jc SEN Ramesh Batavia)

The Asia Pacific Children’s convention is an effort from the Jaycees of Fukuoka, Japan. Children from the entire Pacific region are invited to spend 12 days in Japan every year The children stay with Japanese families and help foster an intercultural exchange.

In India the NHQ circulates the application form every year around January and the applicants have to submit their scrap books detailing the talents they possess to make them outstanding and worthy of selection. The selected child should be between 11 and 12 years of age.

While due weightage is given to the child’s merits, the services rendered by the parents to JCI India play a major role in the selection.

The children go through an orientation program lasting two days to prepare them to imbibe Japanese culture and also to prepare them on showcasing Indian culture.

The Fukuoka Junior Chamber is celebrating the 25thyear of APCC this year
