NATCON - 2013

Program:  JCI NATCON
Date : 27 to 30,  Dec 2013
Place : Raja Muthiah Mandram, Madurai
Host :  Jaycees of Zone -XVIII

Last year,  the NATCON was  held at Thrissur and that showed the strength of Jaycees on  how such a  national event  with members  coming from all over India  can be  managed efficiently.

The Jaycees of Zone-18 have  done an  commendable  work with  dedication  in  co-coordinating  various  tasks such  as  accommodation, venue,  facilitation  for various programs at the venue, catering,  General assembly arrangements, Inauguration ceremony,  Promotion of the  NATCON all over India and the list goes on...   We  felt  nothing  but their hospitality and  sincere efforts.

This  year  we  had a  strong 10 member  registration from our chapter and  we all  traveled  by train to the  Temple city Madurai.

We  could  manage both  business and pleasure and  visited various  locations in and around   Madurai.  First  visit being the  visit to "Tiruchulli" the  Birth place of Sri Ramana Maharishi,  the humble  spiritual  leader and  how opt it is that  our JCI  creed  starts with   "Faith in God gives meaning and  purpose to  human life...".

We witnessed the grand opening  ceremony at the  open  auditorium of Gandhi Museum.  We had the  opportunity to listen to our World President Jc Shine T Bhaskaran  sharing his  experience  of how JCI has shaped his  career  and helped him  reach the highest  position in  JCI.  We were  also treated with  various  cultural  entertainment.   To prove that  JCI encourages young  active citizen,  We  witnessed the live rapid  fire paintings  by  one of the speed  artist Vials Naik.  what an amazing  talent  that was!.  JCI  India honored him with a "Outstanding Youth Person" (OYP) award..  Lots of  his  shows are available on youtube..

Various  training programs  were  conducted by NTTS  prime graduates.    Our  chpater members  participated in the Effective Public speaking  contest on the topic of "Life is a matter of convenience, yes or no?"  This  year the interest in EPS was  so great that  there were more than 30 participants.  Last  year's EPS  winner  Jc Sheetal  Gandhi  who reached international JCI  EPS  competition  shared  few trips and  tricks.

We   also  attended  various  General assembly sessions and first hand witnessed the entire  proceedings being  conducted as per  CAPP  procedure.

Apart from all the intellectual, networking benefits, we also got some materialistic returns for the Rs 2000 registration fees we paid.  Excellent Veg and Non Veg Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner for all the days and also snacks in between, good  quality backpack bag....  Since we  paid the registration fees (thanks to the efforts of our Secretary and  VP G&D), to NATCON  representatives at the ZONECON  venue October itself,  we  also got a very fine  T-shirt as a special gift.

We  have already blocked our calenders for NATCON 2014, won't you?
